Well, it’s been 30 years since Star Wars: A New Hope was released in theaters and created a generation of geeks, myself included. According to TheForce.net the US Postal Service is working with Lucas Arts to commenorate the event with the geekiest mailboxes this side of Tatooine and I couldn’t be happier! Check it out below!

Looks like the folks over at Lucasfilm are either:
a) Actually listening to the fans
b) In need of cash
Why, you ask? Because they’re (finally) releasing the original trilogy in it’s original glory. Starting in September of 2006, and only for three months, they’ll be selling the first three Star Wars movies as the originally came out in 1977, 1980 and 1983. Click here for more information.

William Hootkins, who played Porkins (AKA Red 6) in the original Star Wars passed away at the age of 58 earlier this week of pancreatic cancer. Porkins was one of my favorite characters in the movie, a proud member of Rogue Squadron.
Rest in Peace Mr Hootkins.
